Butterfly Hike at Tallassee Forest

ree

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Butterfly Hike at Tallassee Forest in Athens! We were treated to slightly cooler temperatures for our walk and delighted in seeing (among others) a very rare and hard-to-spot butterfly: the Pigmy Blue, North America's smallest butterfly. A big thank you to Jim Porter for sharing his in-depth knowledge and incredible collection of butterflies with us and for his infectious enthusiasm for conservation! We are also grateful to Lawson Moore and his team at ACC Leisure Services who made this program possible.
