Planning for the Places We Love

October is National Estate Planning Month, a good time to think about the future and the places we hope to protect for generations to come. If Georgia’s farms, forests, and waterways matter to you, there are many ways to support ORLT’s work, both now and in the years ahead.
Annual donations and memberships are essential to our work. You can also support conservation through a planned gift, such as including ORLT in your will, or a non-cash gift, such as appreciated stocks or a gift from a donor-advised fund. Depending on your circumstances, a tax-smart gift, such as a qualified charitable distribution from an IRA, may be another option to consider.
We’re grateful to the generous supporters who have recently included ORLT in their estate plans or made plans to leave their land to the Trust. These gifts reflect a lasting commitment to the farms, forests, and waterways that make Georgia special. We’re honored to work alongside these supporters to care for the places they love, and we’re thankful for the lasting difference their generosity will make.
Every gift helps ORLT protect land and water for the benefit of future generations. If you’d like to learn more about ways to give beyond an annual donation, we’d be glad to talk. We can share information about the options available, and your financial or estate planning advisor can help you determine what’s right for you.
