About the event
We hope you'll join the Oconee River Land Trust for our first hike of the new year. We will be walking through a protected property in Oconee County that has beautiful and diverse wildflower populations. Some of the species we will see include mayapples, wild geraniums, bloodroots, belworts, Catesby's trillium, Solomon's seal, fringetree, chinquapin, and even an American chestnut over 20 feet tall!
The hike will take us through mature mesic, oak-hickory-pine, and bottomland hardwood forests, and will include some short distances that are steep or may be difficult for folks with mobility issues to traverse, so plan accordingly.
Please register HERE for the event. Details and directions to follow.
