Join us June 7th to paddle the Middle Oconee River in Athens and discover this beautiful corridor in our community! Local paddle guide Oconee Joe will be leading this trip and sharing his knowledge about the unique historic and ecological aspects of the river and its surroundings.

About the event
Join us June 7th to paddle the Middle Oconee River in Athens and discover this beautiful corridor in our community! Local paddle guide Oconee Joe will be leading this trip and sharing his knowledge about the unique historic and ecological aspects of the river and its surroundings.
We'll start the morning by meeting at Big Dogs on the River outfitter on Atlanta Highway who will provide the kayaks. Breakfast will be provided before we head out on the approximately 3 hour river trip. Along the way, paddlers will learn about the ecology, history, and ongoing conservation efforts along the river. The trip will end at Macon Highway where participants will be shuttled back to the starting point. Tickets are $95 (includes breakfast, paddle guide, kayak rental, life vest, and shuttle service).
