About the event
In partnership with Athens-Clarke County, ORLT will host a Butterfly Walk at Tallassee Forest Preserve that will be led by retired UGA Entomology Professor Jim Porter. We’ll start by taking a look at Professor Porter’s impressive butterfly collection and then head into the woods, walking towards the Middle Oconee River as we look for butterflies. Along the way we’ll gain an understanding of how the conservation of Tallassee is helping protect an extraordinarily biodiverse property. This is an exciting opportunity to hear from Dr. Porter as he shares his enthusiasm for our locally-protected land.
Sign-up through ACC's website here for the Butterfly Walk (you will need to scroll to the bottom of the page).
