About the event

Oconee Rivers Audubon Society presents its September kickoff meeting with a silent auction, light refreshments, presentation, & panel discussion.


Dr. Jim Porter, Meigs Professor Emeritus and Emmy Awardee, will present a compelling case for a conservation corridor on the Middle Oconee, focusing on the importance of conserving the species and habitats along Athens' Middle Oconee River. Dr. Porter's extensive collection of moths and butterflies found along this river will be on view. A panel discussion organized by the Oconee River Land Trust will follow the presentation.
